Our Story
Respected music industry attorney, Erin M. Jacobson, founded EMJ Music Rights after she decided a full service music publishing company was the best way to serve the clients that wanted Erin to administer their legacy catalogues.
As an attorney handling many publishing matters, Erin has seen the many mistakes in administration and income collection that affect too many music catalogues. She has also seen how many legacy catalogues are ignored, and therefore under-performing and under-earning, due to neglect by large companies. Many of her clients didn't want another bad deal and wanted more control and interaction with their catalogues, but they didn't have a background in music publishing or understand the complexities involved. They wanted Erin to manage their catalogues because they trust her and know she believes in doing what is right for their music.
